 |
A Shropshire man will take on a tough charity challenge in memory of his late wife and to thank the hospice that cared for her.
Hodnet cyclist Roy Bazeley is busy training to take part in an 80 mile cycle ride in aid of the Shropshire and Mid Wales Hospice where his wife
received care during a battle with cancer. |
 |
Friends He has been training since January and intends to take part in a ride from Worksop in Nottinghamshire,
to Sutton on Sea on August 30th, with two friends.
His wife, Cathy was at the hospice for two months as an in-patient with a cancer. Cathy died in January 2002.
Mr Bazeley said: "last year I had a major caring responsibility which has really affected me quite badly. I have been in a slow grieving and
recovery process and this cycle ride will be both a challenge as well as a chance to give something back to the hospice for all the help they have given me."
He added: "I have always enjoyed cycling and each year raise funds for a charity. This year I hope to raise sponsorship in hundreds from my
family and friends for the hospice whichis tremendously well respected and loved."
