Make sense of technology

How much?

I know the price of success: dedication, hard work & an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen.

For web designers, there are four keys to surviving bad economic times: do good work, charge a fair price, lower your overhead, and be sure you are communicating with your client.

Rates

I don't aim to compete solely on price. My prices are designed to deliver good value to you as well as keeping my business sustainable by supporting investment in up-to-date hardware, software and my continuing professional development.

Technology doesn't stand still and neither do I, but at the same time I strive constantly to lower overheads and find more efficient ways of working, while maintaining or increasing quality.

My standard hourly rate is £35.00.

On-site attendance attracts a mileage charge of £0.45 per mile - mileage is calculated on the basis of Google maps first recommended route.

Website development costs can vary widely. As a rough guide: a basic website, done properly, often requires 20-30 hours; something more advanced or with more content might take around 50-60 hours. A full-on data-driven website or one with a lot of content might typically require 120 hours or more. These figures are only indicative. Once we can fix your particular required specification, then I can quote you a fixed price for the work.

if it isn't possible to fix your specification exactly for any reason, then it's sometimes possible to offer an alternative pricing structure. Please get in touch if you'd like to discuss this.

It's also worth remembering that development of a project can be 'phased' in a number of units over a period of time or as funds allow. You don't necessarily have to commit to the whole thing in one go. The project can however usually be designed from the beginning with a particular eventual outcome in mind, thus minimising overall cost.
